Acrylic Nails Step By Step French

Acrylic French Tip Nails: A Beginner's Guide

Introduction

Acrylic French tip nails are a classic and elegant nail design that can be achieved in a few simple steps. This comprehensive guide will walk you through the entire process, from prepping your nails to applying the finishing touches.

Materials you'll need:

  • Acrylic monomer
  • Acrylic powder
  • Nail brush
  • Nail file
  • Buffer
  • White nail polish
  • Top coat

Step 1: Prep your nails

Begin by removing any existing nail polish and gently pushing back your cuticles. File your nails to your desired shape and length, then lightly buff the surface of your nails to create a rough surface for the acrylic to adhere to.

Step 2: Create the acrylic mixture

In a small bowl, combine equal parts acrylic monomer and acrylic powder. Mix until the mixture forms a smooth paste.

Step 3: Apply the acrylic

Dip the nail brush into the acrylic mixture and apply a small amount to the tip of your nail. Use the brush to spread the acrylic evenly over the entire tip, extending slightly beyond the natural white tip of your nail.

Step 4: Shape the acrylic

Once the acrylic has set for a few minutes, use a nail file to shape the tip. File in a downward motion to create a smooth, rounded edge.

Step 5: Buff and polish

Buff the surface of the acrylic to remove any rough edges. Apply a top coat to protect the acrylic and give it a glossy finish.

Step 6: Apply the white tip

Use a white nail polish to paint a thin line along the tip of the acrylic. Allow the polish to dry completely.

Step 7: Apply a top coat

Apply a second coat of top coat to seal in the white tip and protect the entire nail.

Tips

  • For a more natural look, use a sheer white nail polish for the tip.
  • If you want your French tips to last longer, apply a thin layer of clear acrylic gel over the white tip before applying the top coat.
  • To remove acrylic French tips, soak your nails in acetone for 10-15 minutes. Gently scrape off the acrylic with an orange stick or cuticle pusher.
